Accountant - Global Insurance Company

Budgeting:

• Lead expense budgeting that is aligned with overall financial objectives and strategic plans. Evaluate requests from departments from the standpoints of alignment with company's strategy and play a central role in company-wide budgeting.
• Hold review meetings with the CFO and division heads to align the company's direction with the requests from each division.

Financial Reporting and Closing:

• Identify areas for potential cost reduction and efficiency improvement, monitor expense trends, analyze them, and make recommendations for necessary actions. Provide management with the information and materials needed for decision-making. Also make proposals for additional investments when there is room in the expenses.
• Organize and prepare materials for Efficiency Committees as the secretariat, chaired by the CFO to deliberate the overall efficiency of the company.
• Execute the quarterly expense closing process in accordance with JGAAP and IFRS standards.
• Manage financial information and data to ensure accessibility, accuracy, and security. Improve and upgrade the reporting process using Anaplan to standardize and streamline reporting methods.

Modeling:

• Calculate unit costs used to assess profitability by product, working closely with the actuarial team.
