This is a strategic position in a major financial institution's head office risk division, focusing on emerging risk domains such as sustainability (e.g. climate, human rights) and non-financial risk (e.g. reputation, third-party risk). You'll help define risk governance frameworks, lead cross-functional risk assessments, and drive innovation in how non-traditional risks are measured and managed across the firm.

Job Description

  • Plan and manage sustainability risk initiatives (climate risk quantification, disclosure, ESG rules)
  • Define and operate risk governance frameworks for climate change and human rights in investment and lending
  • Drive scenario analysis and trend tracking related to international standards and regulations
  • Oversee governance of reputational, economic security, third-party, and other non-financial risks
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, overseas teams, and external regulators

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience in risk, corporate planning, compliance, or sustainability in financial services or consulting
  • Native-level or fluent Japanese language proficiency
  • Interest in non-financial risk frameworks and sustainable finance
  • Strong project ownership, stakeholder coordination, and regulatory awareness
  • English communication skills
  • Experience in bank head office, risk, or ESG governance is a plus
