We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Corporate Affairs to lead the function for Japan. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services and extensive experience as a leader in Communications and Media Relations.

Our client is a leading global financial institution offering comprehensive services in investment banking, wealth management, and investment management, with an established and successful presence in the Japan market.

Job Description

  • Develop and implement an effective communications strategy.
  • Oversee all external and internal communications, ensuring its alignment with the company's values and mission.
  • Manage relationships with media and handle media inquiries.
  • Be a strategic advisor and communications expert to the executive leadership in Japan.
  • Develop an internal communications strategy to ensure employees are informed, engaged and aligned.
  • Develop and manage a crisis communication plan.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement an effective communications strategy for all major company initiatives.
  • Represent the company at events, including media interviews and press conferences.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Head of Corporate Affairs should have:

  • Degree qualified with extensive experience as a Communications and Media Relations professional specializing in the financial services sector.
  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Japanese.
  • Proven experience creating and managing communications strategies and translating those strategies into actionable plans.
  • Ability to become a trusted communications advisor to senior executives.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
