This position is for an attentive and diligent Risk Manager who will be responsible for localizing the risk department in an effort to onshore the risk operations form overseas to the Tokyo Office. The successful candidate, would potentially become a board member and a future Head of Risk

Job Description

  • Identify and analyze potential risks threatening the company's profitability or existence.
  • Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
  • Work in collaboration with other departments to minimize risk factors.
  • Prepare risk assessment reports for the senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with the latest regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training to staff about risk management strategies and practices.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits.
  • Stay updated with market trends and developments influencing potential risks.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Risk Manager should have:

  • Risk Management Experience within a Financial Institution
  • Strong understanding of financial products like equities (cash and margin finance), bonds, derivatives, and futures.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Japanese to coordinate with various departments.
  • A high level of integrity and professional ethics.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including SQL, VBA, C#, MS Excel, and Bloomberg (preferred).
