Our client is an international renewable energy company with a pioneering presence in Japan's offshore wind power space. Known for its innovative approach and strong commitment to sustainability, the company is in a dynamic phase of growth and is looking to expand its development team with a strategic hire.

Job Description

  • Coordinate interests among key stakeholders including local communities, fisheries, municipalities, and government bodies.
  • Manage licensing and permitting processes with relevant supervisory authorities.
  • Oversee entire project development lifecycle including strategy, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Conduct site surveys and handle acquisition or permission for land use.
  • Lead grid interconnection and power sales contract negotiations.
  • Drive environmental assessments and manage technical surveys (wind, seabed, UXO, etc.).
  • Engage in stakeholder dialogue, building trust with local residents and industry representatives.
  • Collaborate with investors and financial institutions to build and manage financial models and secure project financing.
  • Support power plant design coordination and ensure smooth engineering execution.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Offshore Wind Development Manager should have:

  • Agile, flexible, and resilient approach to work; strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for renewable energy development.
  • Strong financial modeling skills (a plus).
  • Experience in power project development or energy finance (preferred but not required).
  • Willingness to travel and valid driver's license.
  • Japanese and business-level English.
  • Ideal background includes experience with general trading companies, electric power firms, or offshore wind developer
