International Online Money Transfer Business with the mission to simplify international money transfers for business and individuals in a globalised world.

Job Description

  • Act as compliance liaison and resource with Curfex Japan Limited and Regulator(s) in Japan, Financial Services Agency (FSA) as well as banks.
  • To have synergy, collaboration, and teamwork with colleagues from different countries (Malaysia, HK).
  • To continuously develop and enhance existing compliance systems and procedures.
  • Monitor compliance with existing and new or amended laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Assist Senior Compliance Officer in the implementation of and review and update business' compliance manuals and other documented internal control measures to meet the changing regulatory requirements.
  • Assist Senior Compliance Officer in areas of compliance and in preparing Risk Assessments.
  • Prepare periodic compliance reporting and submission to Regulators.
  • Assist Senior Compliance Officer in rolling out compliance plan, audits, and examinations checks.
  • Report to Senior Compliance Officer on any issues/ gaps / improvements, regulatory query and response relating to Compliance businesses on ad-hoc compliance matters and work towards ensuring timely and accurate response.
  • Support day to day Compliance task such as onboarding (KYC), review transactions, screening, transaction monitoring and enhanced due diligence.
  • Report and reply to tax offices' and police's queries as and when required.
  • Any other compliance related issue that may arise from time to time.

The Successful Applicant

  • At least 3 or more years of experience, specialising in Legal and/or Compliance in Banking/Financial/ Money Services Operator (MSO) Services or equivalent in Japan.
  • Experience working in a compliance unit and understanding of the role of compliance within a business; familiarity with the operations of Financial Services Agency (FSA), Ministry of Finance (MOF) Japan
  • Good communication & writing skills in English and Japanese.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to different working environments.
  • Work independently, professionally, comfortable to work at home.
  • Understanding of anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing systems Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Law or related studies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, and some other IT knowledge.
